Singapore

Singapore, unlike its neighbours is immaculately clean, tidy and gum free. There are signs warning you not to urinate in the elevator, ensure you flush the toilet, no spitting and so on. As a result Singapore is very clean and an extremely civil place to be. So much so that some people complain that it is a sanitized police-state.

Whether you like Singapore or not it is undoubtedly one of the best places in the world to shop for high tech gear. Cameras, computers, phones, home entertainment are all very well priced with a huge variety. I usually try and transit in Singapore on my way to other Asian destination to buy bulk film and any camera gear I might need.

However, Singapore is much more than a big, clean, well-policed, civilized shopping mall. It has the best public transport network I have ever seen. Some excellent parks, zoos and gardens including the excellent bird park and night zoo.
