India
One of my favorite places to be is waking up in a 2nd-Class train compartment somewhere in India. The train has been going for days and will probably arrive sometime tomorrow so in many ways it doesn't matter where we are.
In any case, the scene will be much the same. There will be a chai wallah somewhere close, which is great for washing the 2nd-hand bidi smoke and dust from my throat. The toilet will be easily locatable. Bearings can be gained by the hoiking noise or someone scraping their tongue.
I will sit by the window and watch the countryside clatter past wondering what will come through "The Great Indian Railway Bazaar" that day.
